Which properties we list
We list a property only when its licence number matches Turismo de Portugal's public register, the licence holder has confirmed the listing, and the owner has put evidence and current liability insurance on file. We check every licence against the register each week, and a property whose licence stops matching comes off the site. A page for a place shows only the properties in that place.
The order
Properties labelled Founder's family come first. After them, every other property appears in alphabetical order of its name.
Founder's family
Properties with this label belong to the family of the founder of Ask the Villa. They are placed first because of that connection, not because anyone paid for it, and the label appears wherever they are listed.
What does not change the order
No owner can pay to appear higher. The price, the commission an owner pays us and any reviews play no part in the order.

We will update this page before we change how results are ordered, for example when searching by a description of your trip arrives.
