This notice explains what Ask the Villa does with the details you give us when you sign up for enquiry alerts.
Who is responsible
Valentera Limited is responsible for your details (the data controller). You can contact us at [email protected].
What we collect
- Your name and email address.
- Your Alojamento Local licence number, the municipality and town of your property, and how many guests it sleeps.
- A record of what you agreed to, the exact words you saw, when you agreed, and when you confirmed your email address.
- The browser details your device sent with the form (the user agent), as part of that record.
Why we use your details
- To send you enquiry alerts, and news if you ticked that box. We do this because you consented.
- To check your licence number against Turismo de Portugal's public register of licensed holiday lets, so that we only send guest enquiries to licensed properties. We do this because it is part of the service you asked for and because Portuguese law requires holiday lets to be registered.
- To keep a record of your consent and of any request to stop, so that we can show we respect them.
Who else sees your details
Our email delivery provider sends our emails. Our servers are with Hetzner in the European Union. We do not sell your details, and we do not share them with guests, other owners or other booking sites.
How long we keep them
Until you stop the alerts or ask us to delete your details. If you never confirm your email address, we delete your sign-up within 30 days. When you withdraw consent, we keep the record of your consent and of when you withdrew it, so that we can show we respected it.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of your details, ask us to correct or delete them, object to how we use them, and withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before. Write to us at the address above. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) or to Portugal's Comissão Nacional de Proteção de Dados (cnpd.pt).
